Facilities Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee our facilities' operations and ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of Astrolab’s facilities. This role includes ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing building systems, coordinating maintenance activities, and supporting our dynamic work environment. What you'll do:
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and other regulatory requirements
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers. Oversee contract negotiations and service agreements
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial goals
- Space Management: Optimize space utilization and manage office layouts and workspace configurations to support organizational needs
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring the safety and preparedness of all employees
- Sustainability Initiatives: Implement and promote sustainable practices in facility operations to reduce environmental impact
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of facilities staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and morale
- Project Management: Oversee facilities-related projects, ensuring timely completion within budget
- Troubleshoot and problem solve: Determine root cause of facility failures and resolve issues with little or no support
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years in facilities management or industrial engineering in production, fabrication, or warehouse environments; experience with building systems, maintenance, and AS9100/ISO 9001-certified facilities
- 1+ years in safety and environmental health with a strong focus on OSHA regulations; OSHA 10-hour certification or higher a plus
- Hands-on experience with commercial wiring, HVAC systems, and understanding of architectural and electrical blueprints
- Strong project management skills with budget management experience and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Expertise in clean room & ESD control, cryogenic systems, environmental test labs, and server room management
- Proficiency in managing IT infrastructure and implementing access control systems
- HAZCOM or HAZWOPER certification and knowledge of lithium-ion battery storage requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
